Pursuing a Healthy Me & You – Inspiring Healthy habits
Recent studies suggest that building and integrating certain actions in our lives (even when we feel down and out), is hugely beneficial for our well-being. We ought to give ourselves time each and every day to engage in a few good habits or routines that make us become the healthiest versions of ourselves. This serves to make us feel good and more aligned with ourselves.
Pursuing a healthy lifestyle means being conscientious about:
- What we put into our bodies
- Having ‘Me time’
- Spending a significant portion of our day in activities that we really like
- Nurturing relationships that are important to us
- And resting
We Do Matter
Our challenge in pursuing a healthier life (physical and mental) may lie in making the time, and giving ourselves the permission to nurture ourselves. Granted, our lives are busy, our schedules are very full. We often have to juggle multiple roles – work, studying, being a spouse, parenting, ‘makoti’ duties, nurturing our friendships, and giving to our communities – no matter how busy we are, we must Make the Time for Ourselves. To make space for us we must adjust our value systems and prioritize ourselves. After all, We Do Matter!!! We must recognize that we cannot give to another, what we don’t have. We are of no good to those we love if we are broken, stressed, and burnt out. In fact, the price of neglecting our own health can be very high.
